FIREWORKS and SAFARI

On the 4th we drove to Roseburg to watch the awesome fireworks display at Stewart Park.  We had perfect seats near the Catholic church, on the lawn with lots of space around us for the kids to run and play waiting for the time to pass.  Also lots of people were shooting off fireworks everywhere so the hour waiting went very quickly.  Kids had so much fun and Dad and I enjoyed ourselves as well.  Since it doesn't get dark until 10pm, it was very late when we got home and the kids were more than ready for bed.  Quintin was so good, until we got in the car and headed for home, then he was wanting to be in bed NOW.

Biking is a favorite daily activity.  So far we haven't ventured away from home, but the driveway is long enough and the parking area big enough to give them space to ride.

Monday's surprize was a trip to the Wildlife Safari, thanks to the season pass Ben bought while he was here.  They loved seeing all the animals, many up close and personal.  We picnicked near the parking area before going inside to see the petting zoo, and other animals inside.  They got to see a Cheetah up close and watch an alligator being fed.  The train ride was the hit of the day.  Dennis was pretty impressed that it was a REAL train.  Unfortunately the battery in my camera died on the train ride so didn't get pictures of them petting the goats or posing in the picture galleries.  We'll make another trip to the Safari before they go home and make sure we get pictures of all the fun things there.  Quintin stayed home with Grandpa.
